Lisa R. Roe, L.M.T.

Welcome

Hi, welcome to my Website! It's an honor to have you here. :)

I am a licensed massage therapist with 16+ years of experience, offering safe, professional and therapeutic touch for all of my clients! (See the **Background Info*** page! :)

Covid-19 Details:

I have been trying my best to keep up with Covid-19 requirements/recommendations for my business, such as extra-sanitizing, documentation/signing a descriptive covid-19 symptoms list liability waiver for yourself and your family and who've you've been around and/or where you've traveled to etc, more extensive handwashing, wearing protective masks (upon request) and asking clients to bring clean face masks (if they should prefer to wear one), storage of linens in enclosed storage vs stored on open shelves, removal of unnecessary items around the office and/or extra sanitation of those items in between clients (ie lotion/oil/essential oils/jewelry dish, chair the client sits on, etc), changing linens for each client including blankets, blankets have one-time use and are not automatically put on the table unless requested usually, changing the garbage frequently, changing linens for the basket clients put personal belongings into, social distancing if clients should overlap in between sessions (though I try to space sessions out with ample time in between and request that clients remain in their vehicles until contacted for coming into to the office), canceling client sessions if clients or myself have any cold symptoms, fevers, and/or other higher risk factors ending sooner than 2 weeks prior of their sessions, wiping down surfaces and doorknobs throughout the building where anyone has had contact (including bathrooms), etc. Other measures are being taken, and I apologize because for a little while I did become exhausted and my attempts became somewhat minimal; I am back to taking this more seriously again, mainly because Covid aside, it’s good practice alone for sanitation and reducing health risks just as is. I appreciate and am grateful for your patience during this time while preventions and precautions are being made in order to be able to still offer massage therapy to you and yours. It is your choice to wear a mask while laying prone (on your stomach) and having your face in the face cradle. I personally do not choose this option for myself when I receive bodywork, but I understand if that is your choice and will not stop that freedom for you. However, I have been told it is hot and stuffy and sometimes extra hard to breathe when still wearing one while laying face down. Some people have claimed to be fine and have worn their mask for the entire duration of their massage. Again, to each their own personal preference, and again, I also will wear a mask if it is requested, although it is not “my” personal preference.

To get a hold of me: Text 5039308764 for now and leave me a detailed message if you reach my voicemail and it gives you the option; otherwise text me everything or email me ( @ Lisarroelmt@live.com ) and I will respond to your call or message as soon as possible and in the order in which it was received (ie. Name/phone number/can I text or only call?/what session you are wanting/and how long of a session/times you're available/what’s the latest in the day I can return your call or text/etc. and I am sincerely trying my best to return calls within 24-72 hours, although personally that’s way too long of a time to get back to people (for some), and sometimes for me, still not easy enough; I am my own receptionist / office manager, and I do apologize, for this area is Not my forté although I try my best. ~When being in healing work and helping others with releasing their built-up energies and stresses, it can be exhausting and draining, but it’s yet my passion, and as much as possible I am doing my best to keep up, as well as to continue my own healthy self care so that I can be here for those requesting these service, grounded enough and on earth’s timetable. I know some of you reading this will understand. I appreciate any empathy and understanding and respect, as well as patience with this aspect of this line of work. I am a highly spiritual person, and attempting to keep this all together as smoothly and earthly-time-efficient as I can, and yes, I’m human. I can’t explain my spiritual gifts in words…come see me and I’ll explain with my hands. My training from the massage therapy colleges and extra classes I’ve attended is what I charge for, but more comes with it since I cannot and will not deny what also God has gifted me. For that stuff, I do not charge for that, I see it as free, complimentary, a gift, happenstance, nor am I any more special than any of you~ just am trying to explain why it can be challenging for me to return calls and messages right away, and being extra-wordy/detailed at it, and for some, long-winded and unnecessary, I understand. I’m operating perhaps subconsciously on a different time plane, and trying to keep up with normal human expectations and demands, which can be challenging and misunderstood quite easily. My online scheduling program was long ago supposed to be accessible, but I admit and apologize: I am having trouble with it but finally might have found someone able to help me soon get it up and running. My hope is that it might solve what has been challenging: scheduling.

I can no longer be found on Facebook for business things because I didn’t always find those messages right away. Just text me if you are desiring an appointment with me for massage therapy ( 5039308764 ), thank you. I will do my best to promptly get back to you.

OFF HOURS--I will not be answering calls or messages on Saturdays or Sundays, typically. My general office hours are Mondays through Thursdays (times vary), but I still return some messages and calls on Fridays, time permitting. The weekends and Fridays I prefer to have quality family time with my son, and returning messages those days takes time away from that. No apologies. He is my pride and joy and for me, you all are important, but my son is my family, and I will be there for him first, essentially, business second. However, I will still respond to business things when/if I can, sometimes even when he is with me. I do have to keep my business somewhat smooth and running~

Sorry, no reward cards will be punched at this time but if you have cards that are full, bring them in to be redeemed.

My Prenatal massages generally fall under the 30, 45 and 60 minute sessions..

***Universal Reflexology is 50 minutes (Retail: $60) and is absolutely wonderful, and will leave you feeling well-rounded and is just pretty much a long foot massage that also helps your body relax and often in a holistic way, and 100% pure, essential oils are often available to be added to the session as well. It doesn't have to be deep like normal reflexology treatments, though some areas can be a little more tender than others. This modality focuses on mind/body/emotion/spirit: holistic (often I do pray silently here or there as a gift, but nothing harmful; only positive thoughts and prayer and energy are sent your way in hopes of deepest healing only.)

****((((All appointments need to be made in advance, at least 24 hours unless you call and have random happenstance))))****

****Sessions 30, 45, 60, and 75 minutes in length can have the option of me working through clothing if someone does not prefer to dress down. Modesty and/or being shy/reserved/unsure/afraid/timid/hesitant/nervous/ conservative is ok. Therapy is my goal, so just know that I can cater to those who are not wanting to dress down and it can still be relaxing and therapeutic! Also, if someone is more ticklish, I can try deeper pressure techniques to see if that can be counteracted; often it can be. I may, however, also educate on the benefits of trying massage the other way (dressing down/using oil instead of working through the clothes), but it is not absolutely necessary in my book to have to dress down. Also, the Universal reflexology just requires bare feet and ankles/partial calves, and so exercise pants or leggings can just be pushed up, but I do prefer socks to be off. However, I am willing to even try the Universal Foot Reflexology if someone won't take off their socks, but it is helpful if I get to look at how the skin is, with its color, dryness, any markings, etc. I'm fine with feet. I see lots of them. No need to be afraid to show me your feet, but if you are, I will still work with you. Working on the feet can be really healing and relaxing, even if you don't get the rest of your body done. That's all.

**Communication is key! (Essential)

And of course, all sessions are safe, therapeutic, and platonic, and expected to stay platonic, from everyone. This is healing work, not anything else, let that be known and Remembered. :) Any sexual comments, vulgar jokes of the sort, sexual requests or advances of any kind (from anyone) or comments that are demeaning, disrespectful, rude, inappropriate, flirty/teasing, and/or intimidating or threatening, discriminating, or uncomfortable in any way/shape/form, etc/are not accepted here and will result in a prompt end of session and payment in full required. My intent is strictly professional, amiable/amicable, and I care about your healing and overall well-being, genuinely, and do not mean anything else by me being nice, and caring, and even using light humor here and there from time to time. I want people comfortable and me too, that is it. Anything beyond that, as well as swearing/foul language, slaps to my legs or any parts of my body, or inappropriate touching even gripping my hand/squeezing it in a flirtatious, sexual, uncomfortable way while I'm working on it (and it is not from me pushing against the tendons of the  hands and forearms or because of tremors), asking me out for a date, is not acceptable or welcome in my office and service will be denied and you will not be accepted back. This stuff rarely happens anymore, or anything close to it, but I'm addressing it nonetheless just to make sure I have said it. Basically:

I have the right to refuse service to anyone, and/or terminate a session when it's needed, as well as collect full payment for the entire session scheduled, even if it is terminated early, and I apologize if anything is misunderstood but my intentions are pure and professional, and don’t mean anything past that even if I joke or laugh or someone should decide to confide something to me or I tell something about me (all client information is confidential; I do try my best to stay professional in the subjects I talk about as well. Sometimes/ most often, silence is best just anyways—I will do more focused work when there is No or little conversation or talking, un-distracted.)

**I do laugh sometimes with funny things. Please don't get that confused. There's not a deeper meaning behind it. I just can be happy and joyful and I like to smile and laugh, socialize, and meet new people.

**To let it be known (if this needs said to anyone at all), I am also more than able to be quiet during sessions and do my best to pay attention to when that is desired over conversation. I believe healing happens both ways, but sometimes quiet sessions can have a different and possibly deeper healing that can take place and be more beneficial. Oftentimes, I find that the first 1-2 sessions can be more talkative for clients unless they are able to establish trust and do away with nervousness of a new setting/environment/touch/therapist faster than that. Lately I have been attempting to re-establish quiet time vs talking and am encouraging clients to practice deeper breathing occasionally.  It also depends on client cooperation of that attempt as well, naturally. During therapeutic appointments vs straight-up lighter, relaxation sessions, I do find it helpful to check in with my clients and explain some findings and ask questions about their healthcare if need be, so that I can better treat them but also so I can learn what different reactions mean and can stay in tune better when they are silent again. Learning the spoken and unspoken communication for each client, especially for new clients that come in, can be a journey, and journeys are not always fast but sometimes can be. My reflexology sessions I do prefer more of a mandatory silence as much as possible. Just how it was taught to me.

✝️

I now have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason. Same day cancellations and No Shows may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the scheduled massage and/or plus an additional $15. This now applies to motor vehicle accident and workman’s comp claims, insurance sessions paid for by the client to later be redeemed, as well as gift certificates to be redeemed (or the gift certificate may also become voided and in place of the late fee compensation.) I apologize for any inconvenience. I often have a waiting list and when cancellations or no shows happen with less than 24 hours notice, I can't always get the next person in or contact them soon enough and they have to wait longer to be seen (days and weeks sometimes), or I have a chunk of time where I could have been doing something else productive and instead just end up sitting around waiting to see if someone is still going to show up. After 16+ years, I am learning to create a boundary for myself and ask for more respect. Thank you for all who are more considerate. -Some emergency exceptions may apply. ***Also, if/when I myself may be late arriving to the office, I will offer money off and/or an extension of the length of massage therapy session, to show respect back to you as well, and/or give you an extra punch in your reward card (during reward cards seasons) and it is up to you to accept that or not, but I will still at least offer one or more of these as an option back to you to show my appreciation for your grace and mercy, because your time is valuable as well. And I do try to be more punctual these days, often even arriving well ahead of time to where clients don’t have to wait for me as much (this had been an issue that I am diligently working on remedying. Thank you to all who are still here despite when that was happening a lot more frequently!)

All in all, I greatly look forward to working with you soon! Blessings to all, and I mean that, in Jesus’ Mighty Name amen.
